The Airbike by Volonaut is a new kind of personal air mobility vehicle that brings the sci-fi dream of flying motorcycles closer to reality. Designed for a single rider, this fully electric hoverbike can take off vertically and hover with ease, requiring no wings, no runway, and no spinning propellers. It’s a major innovation for those who have ever imagined flying freely and independently.

Jet Propulsion and Advanced Materials

Unlike traditional drones or helicopters, the Airbike relies on compact jet propulsion, possibly ducted fans or turbines to generate real lift. This design not only allows it to fly through tight spaces safely but also offers a quieter, safer flying experience. Thanks to its advanced carbon fiber construction, 3D printing techniques, and minimalistic design approach, the Airbike is seven times lighter than a typical motorcycle.

Futuristic Design with Real-World Testing

Still in the prototype stage, the Airbike has already shown real flight potential in test footage. The design clearly draws inspiration from science-fiction vehicles, with a sleek, angular frame and a unique riding position that offers an unobstructed 360-degree view. It’s designed to hit speeds of up to 200 km/h, or 124 mph, giving it serious capabilities for short-distance solo travel.

Because it doesn’t use large spinning propellers, the Airbike is ideal for navigating confined or urban environments where traditional aircraft can’t operate safely. Its vertical takeoff and landing capabilities open the door to more flexible personal transportation, especially in areas without traditional airstrips or road infrastructure.

The Vision Behind the Project

The Airbike is the work of Polish inventor and entrepreneur Tomasz Patan, known for his forward-thinking approach to mobility technology. With the Airbike, Patan aims to push the boundaries of what personal flight can be light, efficient, and accessible.
